Yes, I see the potential for this becoming the longest running thread on Dave's... possibly even the last one standing (so to speak).

Hey, this is very Faulkneresque, a famous whisky swiller himself!

Faulkner from The Sound and the Fury wrote:
Through the fence, between the curling flower spaces, I could see them hitting. They were coming toward where the flag was and I went along the fence. Luster was hunting in the grass by the flower tree. They took the flag out, and they were hitting. Then they put the flag back and they went to the table, and he hit and the other hit. They went on, and I went along the fence. Luster came away from the flower tree and we went along the fence and they stopped and we stopped and I looked through the fence while Luster was hunting in the grass.

The poster, Troll_Bait, has nice cadences and repetitions in her(?) seemingly meaningless writing. She is actualizing the angst of society and the inability of the "every man" (woman,...troll) to break free from the bonds society has placed on us with the words "I will." They imply an inability and a futility in all such gesticulations in the face of an ungiving society. But, it does end on a note of optimism tempered by the brand of society's ails, "it sees i am additional well." That is the message we must carry away with us this day, "it sees i am additional well."

"it sees i am additional well"

How many bottles of soju have you drunk in a lifetime? I've been here four years. I average seven bottles a week, but I spend about two weeks a year out of the country so it adds up to about 350 a year give or take twenty or so bottles so that means I'm around 1200 or so lifetime bottles of soju drunk.

The curve of the beach as it drifts to the left, the ficus overhanging the sea. Branches lowering towards the water.

Behind it the jungle close and dark grows up to the sand. The soft slap of the waves against the sand and the distant thud of a coconut falling towards to the earth mingle with the heat and smell of fresh air to truly awaken me to the paradise I have woken up in.

Further along, shimmering in the heat is the point where the coast turns out of sight, overhung with Coconut trees and mingling with the smoke from the nearby village fires. This is home, my true and only home.

A thousand kilometres from where I am now and many years in the past, but it leaves its mark upon me as if I trod its sands yesterday and once again I will tred those sands when I can

Here's my take on Shakespeare's "The Passionate Pilgrim, Part I."

Shakespeare's Original:

<<<>>><<<>>><<<>>>

The Passionate Pilgrim

Part I

WHEN my love swears that she is made of truth,
I do believe her, though I know she lies,
That she might think me some untutor'd youth,
Unskilful in the world's false forgeries.
Thus vainly thinking that she thinks me young,
Although I know my years be past the best,
I smiling credit her false-speaking tongue,
Outfacing faults in love with love's ill rest.
But wherefore says my love that she is young?
And wherefore say not I that I am old?
O! love's best habit is a soothing tongue,
And age, in love, loves not to have years told,
Therefore I'll lie with love, and love with me,
Since that our faults in love thus smother'd be.

<<<>>><<<>>><<<>>>

My take:

<<<>>><<<>>><<<>>>

The pilgrimage which is passionate it sleeps

Vice- i

Her truth doing and when, my love swear,

She the what kind of untutor'd will be young and she will carry and she thought,

She goes out and deceiving Iss Iss she wins and but, I believe her,

The world inside forging which is incorrect the Unskilful.

To be vain she will be young and consequently and she will carry and it thought that she thinks,

Go out and my year Iss Iss first be passing

The i dog which smiles her frame li trusts the tongue which it talks

The Outfacing love in sick remainder criticizes inside loving.

w empty r U f five r U talks my love that she is young but?

O! First dwelling is the tongue which calms down from love,

And to age, the fact that it does not have the year when it talks the inside loving,

In like that reason me to come out and deceive in love and love,

Love to be like this there is our defect inside the smother'd, after that.

<<<>>><<<>>><<<>>>

So, what do you think?

To slam poetry, and a submission. We get serious offerings now. Thank you all, and I will name them when I sober. To wit, to whiskey.

I thrash my ax, I bend my bow, I fart missiles at the prow but
Whiskey this, light me up that, so hows this and how will that.
Mr. X, my racer X, my Peter Pan man in the mind
A pause and a light, a thought and a flight
A fancy
So, she this, and he that, we will go and we will at
Consider me and Bull Sh!t that
Consider me and bully that.
Festering thoughts now, breathing deep draughts now
We fight, we light, alight, and sit but
Amid all that still a fancy prance
Of thoughts past and slumbered winks

"Have you ever told a truth to a memory? And the memory said yes, I agree?"
"Me, too! This one time, I"

I thrash my ax, I swill my fill, I pump fists into the air
And all this I forget the next anon and eve
The next chatter and weave
I almost saw through it all
But, hell this is just my best Dylan Thomas and whisky and all. And all to naught!
All too well (actually),
All too well

Yeah I'm hammered...what's it to you? I'm not about the chunks of wisdom and cruise through. People here...have got it figured out.....they've got life dialed in and it's a rout. Makes me wonder, what's the game? Are these people real or am I insane? Seoul is awesome....Daegu sucks.....scenic vistas or noxious trucks? Bush is great, sin he didn't....you fags haven't mastered the metric system. Life is God, and you are bunk....I am saved and you are sunk.

I'm no poet, and don't appreciate the new rules. Evil or Very Mad But I'll make a go. Please be forgiving.

New newbies weekly, where'd the last ones go?
Some became hermits, some were let go.
Some did runners and lost a lotta won,
Others decided they didn't want to be a peon.

Two went and hung out at Harry Pia,
Then went home and suffered diarrhea.

A few had fake diplomas to use.
Seoul Immigration didn't appreciate their ruse.
A couple left being homesick.
And several just became ethnocentric.

How have the rest of us lasted so long?
I guess it's just 'cause we have a long dong.

PS: wish I could scan my notes.. pretty funny

I'm to drunk to follow what you guys said. If it's not sex-related at this point, I don't care. It's all about *beep* and a$$. and Ti!s with a T replaceing the I, incase that was bleeped out to. I had mods. ya'll suck. Totally.

Anyway, I've got this nifty little program called Issa that gives me random words ala refrigderator magnets and I can make up stuff. So, with some ado, here are my creations thus far.

P.S. Soju and cola is the shibby bang shiznit shitty stuff. Anyway:

Whispers and screams,
together in my delirious mind,
soften only mondays.

Next:

I use television for meat music.

Next:

sweet morning crushes
time recalls something silly
cute and only for me

Next:

I always have something,
Screams Mr. Foolish

Next:

Befriend yellow rocks,
but not sky women.

Next:

Bleeding beneath another shadowy thought
warmer now
the years whisper like diamond mist

Next:

He dreamed of sordid moments,
something delirious and sweet
with her,
his beautiful rose petal

Next:

gorgeous woman, he dreamed
from beautiful rose petal storms she shines
a symphony of delicate sweetness

Next:

bleeding man of languid mondays
you cry into the void

Next:

the moment must play,
the skin must bleed,
none are free

Next:

beautiful gray mist
eyes less happy
and beautiful morning tears

Next:

beautiful ecstasy is woman,
still more I crave
the sweet raw storms of something tender.

Anyway, there are a few of my impromptu poems. That toook a long fuckng time. You's better appreciate my high but still low art of arranging digital 'fridge magnets. Some of them are very deep, I feel. And if you's don't care, scew you's too. Soju smoju, I'm perfectly sober. Give me the drunk driving test right now bitch. I'll pass all that shi!!T.

'Sup.

S

P.S.. Not really, I'm trip and fall and probalby whind up pissing myself in some lock-up cell because I wouldn't be able to use their public dirty bathrooms in jail cells.

Don't take it the wrong way. This thread is just what's needed for sparing their friends that weekly stream of smack in a phone call. It's a public service.
