So how much does the A/C add to the electricity bill in a small apartment?

Jack. I live in a small apartment with a small air conditioner and it adds little. I've had friends in bigger apartments with bigger air conditioners pay through the nose, so be careful with your concept of small.

Ok I guess the poll option is dead...anyway, it seems like a lot of people (at least hogwan teachers) don't have it...
My fan died yesterday. Also, my power keeps going out. When I asked about this, I was told that my building shuts off the power during the day sometimes because Koreans like to conserve energy.
If ac is so readily available, I wonder why teachers rarely have them in their apartments? It gets HOT here during the summer.
All the Koreans I talk to have a.c. I would buy one myself, but you guys are right, they are so expensive (as with most Korean electrical thingies.)

ughh! I hate air-con and have never noticed a need for it here in Korea. It's not that hot people! Take more showers and buy another fan!

at the school yes, and all I have to mention is it's hot and it gets turned on even if I'm just commenting on the weather.

Also at my new place but I haven't used it yet.

Tip: the air conditioner works even better after you clean the dust of the filter.
