I'm heading to Korea next week for my 3rd tour of duty and my employer, instead of sending me the usual document to bring to the consulate, has emailede me a 12 digit code in the form of XX-XX-XX-XXXXXX and told me to bring it to the consulate. Is this some newfangled way of doing things or is my employer sniffing glue?
Also can anyone let me know current processing times in Vancouver for visas? I tried calling them to ask but can't get through. |

Yes. Before you needed something people called a "blue paper". Now it's just a number. They're using computers! |

How true. You now receive a Visa Issuance Number, no accompanying paperwork. It's much simplier and less messy, than the old Blue Paper system. Just include it with all your visa documentation. |

In a way, though, it's more comforting to have an official government document with official looking stamps you can wave around. |
