|
|
I just read an article about SMS.ac, a service that apparently lets you send text messages to a cell phone from a website. Does anybody know of a similar service that would work for Korean phones?
1. Where I can send a text message from a web browser to a Korean cell phone.
2. Where I can do the same to an American, Canadian or Thai cell phone.
Thanks in advance!

for some countries (works for USA) you can send text messages from you korean mobile phone. i text my brother stateside all the time. it's easy:
the number you text to is: 001[country code][phone number plus area] so for the US it'd be 001-1-###-###-####
001 is the only international carrier i know in korea that will do outgoing text messages. i believe a friend tried it to scottland and it did not work, though i believe australia does work. unfortunately, getting messages back in is harder, i have yet to discover a way for my brother to get a text message back in to me. i had a friend call up 001 and they said my bro would need to find an american company who could handle the technology changes. sucks that korea is the only country using their system (out of over 100 countries that can use the int'l cell phone, korea can NOT hmph). oh well.
hope this helps some. |

MOS,
I get 50 free text messages a month using http://ums.nonghyup.com/. You have to have an ARC or Korean ID to register, and I don't think it's Firefox friendly. |
