I won't say what it is, but I'm 99.9% sure that Koreans would, figuratively and literally, eat it up.

Save making and marketing the snack by myself, any tips (serious or sarcastic) on how to get this thing off the ground? Is there a 1-800 number I can call to submit my idea?

Seriously, this one is 10 times better than BBQ kimchi potato chips, which, to me, is a fantastic idea, and should have been invented years ago.

If you've got a business plan for franchises, I'm interested.

I know what it is.

BBQ road-kill. I bet it looks and smells just as bad as that flattened fried cuttlefish and squid crap they eat.

Koreans will love it!! Laughing Laughing Laughing

D00d, like- that is soooooo funny!
You should be saving it up for your book, or better yet, take a page from the Billy Brobby handbook and-
"go to the 'Quotable Quotes from Dave's Posters' thread and put yourself there."

Convince some stores to carry your stuff on spec, and then hand out/give away samples like mad, everywhere.

Well, that's the problem: I don't have the culinary nor scientific know-how to make the snacks myself.

Fine. Find a nice halmoni who will at least try to make the snacks, convince a store to carry your stuff on spec, and then hand out/give away samples like mad, everywhere.

Go to Haitai HQ, Lotte or Crown...any of the big makers of snack junk and get them to fund your idea.

That sounds like the best idea. But what's to stop them from just ripping off my snack idea with no compensation? Is there any way to patent or copyright a snack?

I'd be curious about this, too. There are some great, spicy snacks in the convenience stores of Japan, that I know would sell over here.

Yeah, I know. I had been drinking before I wrote that. I went to a PC bang to send an email, got hungry and all they had was dired cuttlefish crap (stinks).

When I'm drinking, my sense of humor can sometimes become a little misguided plus the fact that I was hungry and all they had was that crap.

Usually my posts aren't like that.

I have my own idea for a snack--I'll be marketing it next summer with my brother-in-law on the beaches of Gangwon.

It'll make millions, I'm sure -- won, not dollars, unfortunately.

My understanding is that in Asia, there is nothing to prevent them ripping your idea off and is one of the reasons why some companies hesitate to invest in Asia. Though if it works or if you think it would work in another country, I would like to chat with you. PM me.
