freaky foreigners mistaking Koreans' friendliness with romantic feelings...what about Korean coworkers who think that just because I am white and another white male teacher and I talk frequently, that we look like a couple. They even know I have a Korean boyfriend...I guess some Koreans just can't get around the fact that a white girl may ACTUALLY want a Korean boyfriend. This guy is just a coworker...GEEZ!!! He is big and tall and ugly with facial whiskers and hardly any hair. I love my guy's beautiful hair and his Sphynx-like hairless body. That's my business. Even if he won't marry me because of his family, it doesn't mean I want a white man. A lady in my building saw me crying one day and when I told her I was sad because my KOrean boyfriend can't marry me she starts telling me to go to this church where alot of GIs go. She said you can make good American husband there. So, let's see...hmmm. I am white so I msut marry another whitey or be doomed to eternal singletree land? Then so be it. I will just stay single. So darn what?????

You did just tell the landlady that you can't marry him because he is Korean. The reasonable conclusion would be that you should give up and try to marry an American. It is totally wrong ofcourse!!! But she was jsut trying to be helpful! Where were you crying anyways that she could see it?

I get the same thing any time my students see me in the presence of a white woman. One, whom I've actually discussed on the FWC thread, came to visit me at my school just before she pulled a runner. She's 6' tall and has the body of an athletic 15-year-old boy. She's also severely OCD and made such a nuissance of herself in my town's market that one shop wouldn't serve another blond-haired woman because they thought it was her.

'Teachuh, who is tall woman? Is girlfriend?'

'Oh gawd no!'

Good on you, though, for dating a K-guy. I can't get over the women who don't like us saying how we like k-girls better when they won't even consider for a second going on one date with a k-guy.

In the elevator...
So from now on I guess I have to give this guy the cold shoulder. I have had it happen countless times in Korea. (People thinking that me and some other foreign dude are "together" GEEZ!!! I even went with my Filipina friend to a hair salon and I was sitting there waiting for her and there was some ugly French man sitting there, too. Those dang people asked me if we were together. I said no, I don't even know him. My God, he was just another customer. But, somehow, we must have been together because we were both whiteys? Puhleeze!!! I don't want to be a mean witch but gosh no wonder some foreign women here hardly talk to other guys. Everyone will assume they are together. The people I work with have even speculated about this American girl and Korean teacher being together. They are just friend's, for goodness sakes!!! I went to the phone shop a week ago to help my coworker get a handphone and the guy thought we were sharing a bank account. I said no we are not and he said oh you two are not married? What? No, no no no no.

Maybe Asian guys are an acquired taste. The girls certainly are; how many of us are born that way?

But I find it strange - few of us have such a case of yellow fever that we wouldn't at least *consider* a white chick if she came across right. I do know a few guys who won't, whom I think are not really even pysically attracted to white chicks, but only a few. Yet it seems 2/3 or more of the white chicks here won't even look at a k-guy (and then complain that we make blanket rejections, lol).

If Mills and Boon have a Korean office, you really should consider applying...

Err a lot of Koreans are racists and sexists? A son's duty in a Korean family is to pass the family name. How many old Koreans parents want mixed grandsons to take and pass on their family names? I am not against white women dating Korean guys, but it seems a long battle if you actually want to marry one.

Precisely my point. If he has racist reasons for not wanting to marry her, how 'lovely' can he be (unless you're just really really desperate)?
