There are some folk musicians in Seoul that are looking for people to join us on Sunday afternoons for a jam. It's mostly an Irish Trad Jam~ but it is not limited to that alone. We also enjoy people sharing other types of folk music like: Scottish, English, French, Canadian, American, Australian, etc.
We are looking for people who love to play acoustic guitar, fiddle, mandolin, bodhran, tin whistles, recorders, flutes, pipes, banjos, concertina, accordion, etc.
All invited to play or listen, (sing & dance??) We meet Sunday afternoon at 3pm at the Orange Tree Lounge in Haebangchon (next to Itaewon). It's a great time! Hoping that you will come out.
BTW, if you're coming from out of town, there is a guest house upstairs~ reasonable prices. Seoul Tower Guesthouse.
PM me if interested or if you want some more info.
Thanks for your consideration.

Hi ya Harpeau ...
Ummmm, that sounds like a hoot!
I don't live in Seoul, but maybe could make it up there sometime to do a little rockin' with you guys.
Will definitely forward your thread here to some of my Seoul-based musician buddies

| Go to Noksapyong Station (Brown Line #6). Go out and walk along the wall to Haebangcheon (which exit??). At the Kimchi pots, head left (sort of a fork in the road). Walk up the street and you'll see the Orange & White sign on the right~ Orange Tree Bar 2nd floor. |

| I brought my guitar over here almost 9 years ago. Get a nice hardshelled case, loosen the strings to take all tension off of the neck. Check it into oversize fragile luggage and you should do all right. Most won't let you carry on, but ask just in case. come and join us! |

Its exit 2.
The wall on your left refers to the wall dividing Camp Kim (US Army) to, well, the rest. Walk along that wall for about 6 minutes. Also its more of a VEER to the left at the kimchi pots. after that VEER, you are now walking upwards (til that point you were on a downward slope. Its another 3-5 minute walk after the kimchi pots.
Good open mic at the Orange Tree on Wednesdays too! |
