				| I've been paying a chunk of my salary to a pension fund. What is the best way to get this back once your contract is over? |

If you are Canadian or American:

You go to your nearest national pension office. You fill out a couple forms and decide how you want the money remitted: Cheque or Wire Transfer. If you want the wire transfer you need a copy of your bank book (which I didn't have). I asked for a Cheque. They told me it could take up to three months to get it. I got mine about a month after I left.

Its a very easy procedure, you just need your ARC, your passport a plane ticket (to prove you are leaving) and your social insurance number (in Canada or US).

I went to the Gangnam (Seocho) office and the staff there seemed pretty familiar with the procedure. Your mileage may vary with more remote offices. |

				| But what if you are coming back? I mean, I have a round-trip ticket, but I'm only coming back to hang out for a few months, not to work. Do I do the paperwork now or when I'm absolutely finished with Korea forever? I may take another job here I may not, but I don't want to get stuck in the window of opportunity. |
