And what's up with all this stuff they call "toast" I see everywhere now? That's not toast, it's a grilled sandwichi. |
Those things kinda rock though. It's like a salad between two slices of bread. Ingenious. |
Do they really taste good? |

I myself, just got off the plane from America so I think my clock is all screwy...think I'm coming down with a cold too, so not much is tasting good right now.
Did try to eat some dak galbi though earlier.
This would make such a good thread, as I am clueless in the kitchen...what are your favorite Korean food recipes? How could I make some really good chamchi bokkumbab or dwenjang chigae? Anyone know?
I like the coffee Twix bars...kind of interesting. Not in America. |

It's hard to say. The first bite I had was pretty disgusting, but they've grown on me. Now, if I'm starving and I see them for sale, I'll hook it up. |

Dwenjang chigae is easy. I've made it before for my husband. Just boil some water, throw in some dwenjang paste (the more you put in, the more it will stink), then empty out most of your fridge into it. The nasty taste of the dwenjang drowns out anything else obnoxious that might end up in the mixture, so you'll be fine. Tofu, onions, dwaejigogi (the cheap kind), potatoes, mushrooms, peppers (hot or not), garlic, all are good to chuck in there. |

Hey, everyone, why aren't you posting? You haven't eaten, have you? Now, that just isn't right. You have to eat. Eat and grow corpulent! I just had some raisin biscuits.

Because I have nothing better to do now that my classes are finished for the day...
Hi Wombat
I ate some sesame crackers for breakfast (need to get some milk for cereal, and a proper breakkie) and for lunch had some (but not all that I was given) chamchi kimbab. It's this cold man, can't eat much.
So, those of you who are healthy, whose taste buds are in working order, eat up for me, please!! |

quite often it depends on the vendor. Some places make them well, some don't. Oftentimes you need to be careful - they sprinkle sugar on top of the ketchup. That's fine for me now, but at first it upset me a great deal.
As far as I'm concerned, if you've found a good stall, to-seu-teu and a warm bottle of vegemil is an excellent breakfast.
Yes, I've eaten cooked rice. It was delicious. Have you eaten cooked rice? |

I am eating barley, in the form that comes liquified, in brown bottles.
It is delicious.
Also, tangentially, South Korea threw away more food last year than North Korea produced.
This proves something, I think, but thinking about it too much makes me sad. |

What's vegemil?
I am soooo hungry right now, haven't eaten anything in the last seven hours (except a lovely little c.oc.k.tail of meds, prepared specially for my by my friendly neighborhood yakguk) |

It's a veggie/soy based milk...for lactose-intolerants and vegans alike. |
