Top o' the mornin' to ye laddie.
Keep calm. I'm sure your employer will cover the cost of the visa run if you're
delayed because of W&P. Classes don't start until next Thursday so have a ball
in Osaka until then.

Hi,

I'm having the same problem. Worknplay told me that I didn't need a visa number. Being a fairly cautious person, I called the nearest consulate to check. They told me that I had to have a visa number. I contacted Worknplay and they insisted that I didn't need the number. So, the next day I called the consulate again. They again told me that I had to have the number. So, I contacted the Korean embassy in Washington, D.C. They told me the same thing. I don't know what Worknplay's problem is, but you're not alone. If you haven't read it yet, see the "What you REALLY need for your visa" thread that is also on the board.

Good luck.

Don't worry about the trip to Japan. They school should pay and you get to see a bit of either Fukuoka or Osaka. I've been to both and it is a good little break.

Work n Play are good marketers of jobs but not so helpful on practical things. Just make sure you are paid for it all cos it is their responsibility not yours.

Take in the sights in Japan and sip on some Sake!

I have been saying the same thing for the past few months. Worknplay might be nice to your face, but are totally oblivious to visa precedures (which is scary). They are in the business of finding teachers (and that is all they do). The big problem with them is that they will not check up on things that you ask them. They have it in their heads that they are right, and will not double check. Things will work out, but it will be more trouble then it should have been.

listen, had to delete. I've got my visa and it was a bit unprofessional of me to criticise worknplay without giving them time to see if they came through with the goods. To be honest, most posts I've found seem to be pretty positive about worknplay and I guess I was just being immature ranting on like that without giving them a chance, I've wanted to go to Korea for 3 years now and I thought I'd blown my opportunity Embarassed .
By the way, two roads, me too. That's why I ended up on the rant originally. I rang the K consulate and they told me there was no way I was getting my visa without the issuance number. So i gave them what i had (ie passport and application form) in the vain hope i'd get the visa. The consulate rang me back the next day to say I could collect my visa and passport
