My friend, are you serious? Have you been to Ulleung-do?

I'll admit it was my favorite trip on the peninsula: beautiful water, clean air, firendly people. But how many squidmongers make enough money to send their kids to hogwan?

As far as I have heard, all the wealthy families that live/own businesses on the island send their kids to better schools on the mainland and the kids visit on weekends. I think you are out of luck.

There is a high school and middle school, plus three (maybe more) elementary schools. so there are kids on the Island. It is true that most of the better off boy and girls go study on the peninsula, that doesn't mean all, and plus a few adult learners too. The total population is just a bit under 10,000 so the number of hogwans has to be thin, but considering the numbers alone, there has to be at least the need of one, more like two native teachers on the Island.

With the right temperment and outlook (your reputation would get out like wild fire), the Island would be great!

Its a fun notion & a fantasy I've entertained too. There is of course the govt initiative to eventually have a native speaker in every public middle school. Might be a good time to inquire.
