I often see posts here about the things we find strange or disgusting about Koreans. I wonder what they find strange or disgusting about US?
I can only think of 2 right off the bat.
1. blowing our noses in public.
2. I suspect we stink to them.

We can't speak Korean.
We can't use chopsticks.
That stubble on our face comes from being up three days straight. "Teacher, are you tired?"

Bushy eyebrows and long nose hair. Foreign guys rarely touch these areas while grooming. I got myself a trimmer for $10 back home and bought one for a buddy.

They also wonder how we reach the smalls of our backs without using a wash towl.

It's these small things that count and Asians are good at pointing them out.

We're fat. And our food is 'greasy', salty, and generally unhealthy.

ha ha! yeah right. i think they took the cake on that one. ive said it before and ill say it again...most of these people look like they have hairy leeches attached to their face.

i actually asked some koreans who seemed to be pretty candid and this is what they said.

1) licking ice cream bars instead of biting them. its childish.

2) licking your fingers after eating. it's gross.

3) blowing your nose at the dinner table.

4) not gross, but they find small talk with strangers, just for the sake of talking quite strange. (such as when waiting in line or at the elevator)

5) cheesy, greasy smell, generally by men.

not related, but reminds me:

a foreigner told me a story about how her taxi driver kept staring at her and her boyfriend then finally asked the question he just couldn't figure out...how could they kiss with such big noses (as in not flat), and she had a normal european nose... Rolling Eyes

Shoes in the house.

Also, some feel not wearing house slippers around the house is unhygienic. Some Chinese feel this way as well.

One of my female students aged 8 asks almost me everyday why my face is red, why my eyes are big and why my hair is so soft. I think she thinks I am really wierd. One of my friends students couldn't understand how she can see out of her blue eyes! My co-workers think I am wierd for taking sandwiches to work for my lunch.

Shaving or trimming of pubic hair is probably seen as strange by many.
