My coworker just left today for home.
Any way he heard an interesting analogy about South Korea.
It goes like this: South Korea is a 3rd world country with a sugar coating.
I get a giggle from it. What do you think?

That's original and novel as hell. By the way, did you mean "sugar"? |

I think the French have a proper term for it - "nouvelle riche" (the new rich) which basically means poor people who just because rich all of a sudden like lottery winners. |

Go to a real third-world country and get back to us. |

Jongoguru mentioned one I found more apt, something about explaining Seoul culture with these three words: Farmers In Suits. |

sorry to be rude but that means nothing. you still thought it was interesting, true, profound, whatever enough to bring to everyone's attention as though it's gonna get a load of "OMG HOW TRUE IS THAT???? WELL DONE WRENCH!!!!1" replies. it's an item of total BS. whether you love Korea or hate it, or whether you neither love nor hate it, it simply cannot be argued that it's a 3rd world country, unless you enjoy sounding foolish. |
