I too have had some problems with my University and/or Korean Immigration. I've had to send transcripts 3 times and they finally accepted them, only to realize I need another set at the consulate in Vancouver!
I'm now going to have to do a visa run to Japan "at my own expense" once I get to Seoul
sigh.

don't come to korea until you've got your visa. if your school wants you to come and then do a visa run, they have to pay for it not you.

well my transcript has finally arrived unopened, now lets see if immigration accepts it with the dodgy looking seal that my university uses.

Just recieved this in an email from home, from the sounds of it DHL Korea is pretty good compared with south america

Quote:
Talking to my boss this morning - Helen - her daughter is in Buneos Aires (Sth America) and Helen sent her through NZ Courier Post with DHL being the agent in Sth America a parcel for her birthday which contained a couple of girly mags and a black tshirt. Total value about $60.00. Apparently a DHL person fronted up at Lisa's apartment only speaking Spanish and said that he needed her to complete a heap of forms, which she did and that before he would release the parcel she would need to pay $600. Lisa said get lost. For Helen to get the parcel recalled back to NZ it will cost her $60. Apparently Helen has sent several small parcels normally containing mags and not one has arrived, DHL have intercepted everyone. The only thing that has got through is a birthday card.

so i guess it could be worse, hard to think things like this happen in a big international company

Please satisfy our curiosity. What university charges such an ourageous sum for transcripts?

I guess most of that expense is express mailing because the transcripts themselves only cost $5.
