Five minutes before classes start in the morning and again at lunch time, my school played Greensleeves. That was tolerable. This term we are getting Home On the Range. Maybe the principal is making a subtle endorsement of Brokeback Mountain, I don't know.
Anyway, just wondering if there are other songs in the repertoire that I could request. |

Yesterday it was gangsta rap.
At least we do seem to get some variety. |

The Beatles: "I want to hold your hand"
...because I simply felt like playing it.
One of the benefits of working in a hagwon |

My old hagwon played Fur Elise (or however you spell that) as the bell . I never liked that song before, but now it gives me dry heaves.
My current school does not have a bell... no evil sounds to torment me. |

The elementary school directly opposite my old hagwon used to blast the theme from 'The Lone Ranger' at the start of every lunch time, over and over, for a full 15 minutes.
It made for a very long 15 minutes. |

My school ends to the 'big ben' bell tune. |

I was reliably informed by the pupils that today's ballad was by She Eunjin, whom of course I've never heard of. |

some unrecognizable and high pitched meleody is played between classes. Last year the music teacher taught the recorder group the 'in between class' song - lovely that was |

I almost peed my pants one day when I heard "Hip to be Square" by Huey Lewis and the News, blasting from the speakers at my public school. What a fitting anthem |

Every once in a while, I hear a sharp-eared music student sing along, "do mi so do do mi so do." |

Usually around lunch time I hear some pretty cool classic pop tunes played over the outdoor speakers, including "California Dreamin'," "Don't Cry For Me Argentina", "Unchained Melody" - and even "House of the Rising Sun" (all by the original artists.) I think the head of the Music dept. selects them, and I vaguely recall a Korean English teacher telling me that there's a high school radio station that broadcasts occasionally... |

I have no idea what the song is. However, they play an upbeat song when class starts and a down beat song when class ends. Who are they trying to fool? |

I'm jealous of the variety of tunes people get to hear in one day. |
