So just a litle FYI for all you, according Jim Lahey himself the new season starts April 6. Now I'm waiting for some official announcement but I'm hoping this is true because I can't wait.

What's your thought on the show. I think its the best written and funniest show on television right now.

I was introduced to it by a canadian friend. Yeah its the funniest thing I've seen in ages. Just got the retail dvds seasons 1-4 from www.bitsoup.org.

I heard a new full length movie is being made. Lets hope it aint done in Hollywood.

I will keep an eye out for new eps. Cheers for the heads up.

TPB kicks ass and all sorts of words you can't say on here.

The best place to download it is probably http://www.digitaldistractions.org

It's Canadian so it won't be shut down.

I'll agree it's the funniest thing to come out of North America since Seinfeld finished and The Simpsons lost it's mojo.

Edit: TPB and Curb Your Enthusiasm are the funniest things since......blah blah.

Its not only the funniest show on English TV, its also on par with The Simpsons in terms of its writing. The show is a very complex parody of Canadian culture, iconogrophy, history and politics. Amost every episode is ripe with deep mockery of the Canadian way.

I'd never think of comparing it to the Simpsons, even early Simpsons. It's more like Dukes of Hazzard done Canadian style.

Sorry I have to disagree. I think people are fooled and distracted by foul language (like early Simpsons watchers were) and drug use. But if you look past the offensiviness you see the parody and critical elements coming out. The constant barbs at our welfare state, Alberta's weath and tax policies, the icongraphy of the Canadian hoser, the lax drug laws, our crazy bilingualism, our gun laws, gay politics, and of course the criminal justice system.

I think its on par with the Simpsons its just that this is a very different show taking a different approach.

It's definitely a parody show, but I'd say it's more like Dukes of Hazzard with a mind than the Simpsons in a trailer park. It's common for decent Canadian TV shows (Made in Canada and Twitch City for example) to contain much more social commentary and satire than American TV shows. I think it's unfair to say that all shows that use satire are close to the Simpsons (unless they're created by Seth McFarlane).

I'm Canadian, thats half british.

I think its unfair to say its exactly the same as The Sinpsons but I think the Dukes of Hazzard is a bit of denegration. TPB is more than a critic of the percieved lower classes, its a full on assault of most things canadian, it attacks/critiques the mainstream, and particular subcultures.

My husband and I are really looking forward to a new season and the movie.

When I first started watching it I wondered wtf IS THIS SHOW??!!
Then the terminal retardedness of Ricky and the other characters starts to suck you in and you're hooked.

I've been surprised at how many Americans know about and love watching TPB too!

Apparently the Detroit Red Wings play it in their dressing room.
