People have said Korean cars are modelled after refrigerators.
I think that would be a step up for monstosities like the SSangyong
Rodius, which was voted the "Ugliest Car on UK Roads" (Irish Times)
Also the colour selections seem to reflect this country as a whole.
Instead of brilliant reds or yellows, they have the mundane three.
Black, white or if you are feeling really wild today - silver! However.
they seem to sell reasonably well.

| Are you in competition with RR over who can post the most negative things they can find about Korea? |

| I think Korean cars look nice. SUV's and trucks are a whole different matter. Actually, the small SUV's are nice, too. Yeah, they all have boring colours, but I am noticing more brights colours all the time now. The only problem with Korean cars is that they have terrible safety ratings. Not ALL of them, but if you look up the safety ratings from the testing they do, Koreans cars are normally at the bottom. I actually think that the new Hyundai's are very similar to Toyota's, in their general shape. Good thing because I like Honda and Toyota. |

| Hyundai is making good vehicles and the partnership vehicles between Samsung-Luono? seem quite nice as well. |

| Yeah, Korean cars are no match for the Canadian models. Of course, the Canadian models eat a lot of oats and poop everywhere. |

Colours and styles are nothing special in Korea, and even ugly. (especially white cars, uggh)
But I think the term "boring" better describes them.
Except for stylish SUVs, colourful Matiz and the rare, rare sportier models. |

| I don't the name of the SUV but there is a new one that has a clear influence from the Porsche Cheyanne. Imitation is the best form of flattery. |

They sell well in Korea because of punishing import tariffs meant to prevent people from buying foreign cars. Perhaps there is also an onerous surcharge on colors other than white and black, and a special license required for green or red. Maybe a presidential permit is required for a convertible to a maximum of two a year.

There are some funky colors available like metalic lime and aqua blue. I think I saw a Pride in metalic orange. Oh, and I know the Pride comes in crimson red 'cause I was admiring it. The more lively colors are available. I don't know why people aren't buying them. Maybe they cost more.
As for the designs of the cars, they're okay, but not works of art. The SUVs are hideous though and sound like little jeeps when they drive. I bet if you open the hood of one of those things, you'll find a little engine.
Most people around the world are sheep. They'll follow whatever trend is presented to them. In North America, I was tired of seeing gold and silver cars. Those colors were very trendy for a while.
Here, it is a curious sight when you look at a bunch of cars stopped at a red light and see only white, silver and black. Yawn! |

| May I just say I appreciate the blow job shot in the OP's picture. Cohiba, I would drive a silver Sonata to get that treatment! |

Korean cars suck!!!!
I rode in a Kia Sorento.. It should be renamed to Kia Spine crusher (This vehicle has NO SHOCKS)
Deawoo Statesman = Its a gutless bloated Turd.. No matter how much they try to shine it up its still a turd.. Absolutly attrocious.
Hyunday Verna = Gutless and Ugly
Ssang Yong Rodious = Holy *beep* how drunk were the designers.. I mean the Hummer 2 was a engineering joke that was popular but the Rodious? Joke ??
Korando = WTF???????? What shity rip of a Jeep TJ-YJ.. Its ugly as sin..
I do have to admit Hyunday is the best of all the Korean sleepers. They are quite reliable and inexpensive.
Kia - Deawoo - Ssang Yong - HOLY *beep*
All Korean cars tho earn a pretty bad score in the safety department. |
