I saw the Larry King show on CNN earlier. Paul McCartney and his wife were arguing with the premier of Newfoundland. I don't know much about it really, but I figure if baby seals looked like squid no one would complain. Mrs McCartney made the point that people don't eat seal. I ate it many years ago. It was good. I think it would be consumed more often if more people knew it tasted good. |

Right. He's talking about something he obviously knows nothing about. Interestingly enough, I've seen Canadian seal oil tablets in Korea. |

I'm sure you could find snake oil too, if you looked for it. |

Those two set your cause back a few years on that interview, red dog. They didn't even know that they weren't in Newfoundland when they did the interview. |

Larry King shares in the blame, I think.
He started the interview by calling it the New Finland Seal Hunt, and you could see Danny start an abortive eye roll on that... |

"New Finland" is the way Newfoundlanders say it. Unusual to hear an American say it that way though. |

Good point. It isn't pronounced exactly like 'New Finland'. It's close, though. |

Larry said new FINland -
Us Newfies say newfenLAND
Larry totally got it wrong - never mind the fact that I'm pretty sure he never would have addressed an American governer by his first name like he did Danny Williams....
But now I'm just nitpicking.... |

No, you got it all right from his pronunciation of Newfoundland to his breach of proper etiquette. |

I dunno... I thought us newfs said it more like "NEWFinland" or just plain "Newfinlind" with no real emphasis anywhere. But who care really... |
