Did they maybe move it to one of the exclusive AFN channels?

I clicked the link and sent them an email, mainly stating that thousands of North Americans working in Korea depend on AFN Korea for programming from back home, and that many of us feel the loss of Saturday Night Live (and I added Meet the Press...) I've contacted them before, and they usually get back with some explanation (at least) in a day-or-so. Worth a try, I guess - if they get like 50 requests to reinstate a program they might take some positive action (if they can...)

That's a strong word to describe a television show don't you think?

Okay, I'll change it: "People who are almost old enough to wear depends count on AFN for programs from back home... " (Yeah, I think it has more gut-wrenching appeal...)

heck its not funny anymore anyhow, even Weekend Update tends to be lame. Family Guy is much funnier than 90% of SNL anyhow

If you are desperate I'm sure you can d/l it.

But yeah AFN is really starting to stink now, guess they really want the GIs to get the sat dish

I miss AFN mainly because I like Letterman. Stop complaining about a channel you have for free. And I agree, SNL has not been good for a long time, with a few exceptions.

Anyway, TV has certainly improved in Korea. Before 2000 it was AFKN (maybe) and a VCR. Now there are several good movie channels.

My feeling is SNL isn't as funny as it was, sure, but if you know of a funnier English sketch comedy show on Korean TV on Saturday night, fill me in. One can download it, but it's kind of nice to just have SNL on in the background while I'm using my computer. It's very hard to use your computer and watch a TV show on your computer at the same time.

I think to have even a remote chance of getting it back on a significant number of expats have to click on this link and request it: http://www.afnkorea.net/contactus.asp
(And political junkies should be concerned also about the loss of "Meet the Press" on Sunday nights ...)

SNL is pretty lame these days. I won't miss it. But I'm very worried about how much NCAA Tourney action we're going to get.

Well, they wrote me back - pretty much what I expected, but they give an email address to direct complaints and comments to...

All television schedules are developed by the programming staff at the AFN Broadcast Center in California. They acquire the broadcast rights, schedule the material and distribute the programming via satellite to AFN stations overseas.

At the beginning of March the programmers made a number of changes to the AFN Prime channels (Atlantic & Pacific) that resulted in some programs being added to the schedule and others being removed, or moved to another AFN channel. Two of the changes resulted in "Saturday Night Live" moving from AFN Prime to AFN Xtra, and "Meet the Press" moving to AFN News and AFN Prime Atlantic. You can visit www.afnkorea.net to access all of the AFN television schedules to see when and where your favorite shows may be seen.

If you would like to express your views about these changes you may email the Affiliate Relations office at the Broadcast Center: [email protected]

Thanks for contacting us, and for your interest in AFN.

Haven't watched AFKN in about 6 years. Can't say I miss any of the programs on it.

The Anthrax Ninja, on the other hand ...

I'll admit to dancing a little jig of joy when I realized that lousy show was gone. Very Happy Very Happy
