I imagine many spots in Itaewon will be wall-to-wall people. What's everyone doing on St. Patrick's Day this Friday? I know the Irish Community usually has stuff going on like a parade somewhere and Gaelic Football. Should be some good music about, as well.
Anyone up for tipping a few pints of the Guinness?
Beannachtai na Feile Padraig oraibh!

I'll be the obnoxious drunk screaming, "Pogue mahone!" (I found a way to get around the censors). |

Glad that someone is also thinking of St. Paddy's. I was also curious what is going on Fri in Seoul. I have never been to any Irish pubs in Korea so any info on a good place with some Irish tunes and craic would be great.

Here's the Irish Association of Korea's website...

For St. Patrick's Day there's usually a hooley, a parade and a formal event. As well as cultural events. It's all listed on the above website. |

Yes there is a major session planned in the Dublin Bar for St Patricks night. Pints of good Guinness 7000w all cocktails 5000w Pitchers of Green Beer 11000w Irish stew free for the first 100 or so and great craic a promise, kick-off or throw in, is at 7:30 pm until very very very late if a usual Friday night at the Dublin is anything to go by. tel 031 7087942 or Joe the owners number is 01031247773 Seo Hyeon Station Bundang. Take the ABC-or Kfc exit walk thirty steps it is on your left. The place is really getting popular with the foreigner community as well as locals I have been going since Christmas and Friday and Saturday nights are terrific. See you there. |

The " beep " in my last posting was for my description of a mixed alcholic drink commonly referred to as a male chickens tail, anyway all male chickens tails are 5000w all night. |

Bundang is about twenty minutes from Hannam bridge on a bus or taxi just ask for Seo Hyeon Station or Samsung Plaza in Bundang then take the KFC exit and it is just doen on the right about thirty yards, everyone seems to have trouble findinw it the first time so give them a call 031 708 7942 they often go out to KFC's to help people find it. Joe is the owner his number is 010 3124 7773 he is an Irish fellah. Slainte! |

I hate Irish music with a passion. Guinness is also tooo heavy.
Must of come from spending too long in London in the 90's and frequenting those 'glib' Irish imitation pubs in Paddington. Never again.
Give me a Belgian white with acid jazz as a mixer anyday.
Paddies Day turns into a sickening display of many people pretending to be Irish, or claiming Irish heritage with terrible fashion to boot.
The end of the night always looks like that last scene in Magnolia with frogs falling from the sky.
But in this scenario, its alot of fat people in green shirts trying to dance/sing like U2. Pity they didn't exercise that hard in their off time.

This all sounds incredibly promising.
How's it down there on a Thursday? I feel I might have to pop in tomorrow night to get a feel for the place before getting overwhelmed on St. Patty's Friday with a horde of nasty new waygookindeul...
And is that Guinness on tap? I thought I had heard it was only bottles at Dublin. If I have been lied to, I will flay the man who has kept me jaunting up to Seoul for a pint when I could have had it poured two tube stops away... |

Yes the Guinness is on tap ,'has been available since May, freshest in Korea, very well cared for. Thursday is the only day I cannot go to Dublin as I have a very early private on Friday, but I imagine it is pretty good, it was hopping last night ( Wed ) I think people are really making it their local, I knew half the people there. |
