We've all heard it. That pleasant, near-native female voice announcing the arrival of the next subway.
"The train is arriving now. Please step back "BLAH-BLAH-BLAH.".
You may get on the train when the doors are open."
It's either "from the line" or "for a while."
I've been riding the subways on and off for many years, and I still can't decipher those 3 syllables. It's tearing me apart.  |

At my station it's "Please step back ~ " or "Please wait behind the yellow line"
I love getting the 'express' subway, and hearing the announcement say "This rapid train is bound for Yongsan is now approaching"  That's a guy's recorded voice though, not female. |

| I find it odd that the one subway line where the English announcements are not read by an anglophone is the one that has Itaewon on it. |

It sounds like "From The Wire" to me... but I don't know what it is supposed to mean. I guess "from the line" would make the most sense. |
