Prosecutors drop sex case against teacher

If this had been a guy molesting a 14 year old girl (or boy) there is no way they would have dropped it. This really is pathetic.

Also, I love the bit at the end.

Quote:
"I am a strong Christian woman," she said. "I believe that God has a path for me, and this was just a bump in the road."

I am quite sure God's path included blowjobs to teenage boys under your care. Does anyone else find when someone says they are a "strong Christian" they are anything but?

I saw her talking about her mental illness. Mental illness, yeah. She's crazy about that young stuff.

While in university I met one of my neighbours at a local party and we spent a few minutes chatting over a drink. In the space of 5 minutes it came out that she was
A) a born again Christian. I had my doubts when she said it but I also had no reason not to take someone I had just met at her word.
B) A stripper. (We were mere blocks away from a number of Strip clubs on Catherine St, Montreal) Part time she said. (My room mate confirmed later that week that she was indeed working at a certain club in the neighbourhood)
C) A heroin addict. She was sort of recovering, and doing pretty well lately, she said, but by the way did I happen to know anyone at the party she could score off of?
Our coversation ended shortly after this point.

I asked her something along the lines of
"So how how is the Christian thing working out for you?"

And she replied
"Well, I've been slipping a little lately."

You really think so?!?

This was no ordinary teacher. Have you seen photos of her? This "boy" is going to be a legend throughout high school and college.
It would have been great to have a teacher like that when I was 14.

Ya, I saw the picture but I didn't want people to be influenced by the fact that I wouldn't have minded being molested by her when I was 15 Wink

It's still not the point!

There is a double standard no doubt. But I think the dropping of the charges has more to do with the boy not wanting to testify than the prosecution giving a break to a female.
When this story broke it was reported that the boy wasnt too traumatized about what had happened.

The boy probably felt great and not traumatized at all. The only thing that could hurt him is to make him feel like he is a victim by prosecuting the teacher. The more the state tries to punish the woman, the more the state will hurt the boy.

If the boy is not a "victim" in his own mind, then there has been no crime.

I agree with ontheway. I'm not convinced (from what little info was in that article) that the boy felt victimized. I got the feeling that his mother is the one who was outraged and the conflict was between mother and son. I think there should be a double standard in this particular area. One size does not always fit all.

Being 14 and having your sex life discussed in public is potentially more traumatizing than getting laid.

Yeah, that boy's going to have no confidence problems.
Though, looking like she does, why was she with a 14 year old?

I would argue that she is guilty of statutory rape.

By what I read (your article), she has already pleaded guilty in a separate case, but that the charges were dropped in a second county where she would've faced additional charges.

Correct me if I'm wrong.
