This site rocks!

I spent half of my prep time last year (and 16 grand of my own money a month for a newspaper ) on just a couple of current events classes because the articles were so difficult for the students. I spent a lot of time trimming articles, figuring out how to explain difficult words, making comprehension and discussion questions, etc.

I could have saved time with this site and had better discussions. I'll definitely be using this site. Thanks!

This guy does have great lessons but I find that the same format day-in-day-out gets a bit monotonous. (Yes I know you don't use all of the things).
Also, I don't like his T/F questions much because the answers are basically liftable from the text, which is not expanding reading comprehension.

Having said that, props to him and I do use his lessons sometimes as an adaptable base.

PS Wouldn't it be nice if there was more stuff like this aimed at middle and high school students? It seems so much is either made for adults or little kids.

Why am I not surprised that the entire site is in Korean?

I'm pretty sure it costs as well. Confused

Look at the thread titled 'Ideas for adult discussion class' and you will find more addresses that others have found useful.

The site's bilingual and there's quite a bit of free stuff. The commercials are great if you ever want to do a lesson on that.

Thanks for posting the link. I'll check through it a bit more thoroughly this weekend.

As for breakingnewsenglish.com, I've found that it demands a good proof-read before you hand it out. There were a few typos and grammar mistakes that might have proven embarrassing had I not caught them. Overall, though, a very useful site.
