For me it was sometime back in November, I think. I thought I might finally get the full 22 this week; but no, today is exam day again (I really like my Friday classes and am actually a bit disappointed).

What a farce the idea of continuity is when every week one has about 3-10 lessons cancelled for various reasons. I've had to start taking notes just so I can remember what I've done with each respective class.

The previous two weeks I taught a full 22-hour schedule, but that is definitely out of the norm. I teach at several schools so there is usually something cancelled each week at one or more of them.
I'm also bummed that I will miss today's classes. They are the best of the week by far, but I'm here at the school doing time, so I'll be able to pop in for a quick visit to my favorite students later.

Do you get paid, though? If my classes at this high school are canceled, I get zip.

Really? At a high school?

I got paid 3.1m in January for teaching a total of 50 winter break lessons.

A HS gig that pays by the hour? That seems very unusual indeed.

This week in fact. Elementary school teachers don't get half the classes cancelled that you guys do.

3 weeks in at my new Middle School and the closest to the full class load is this week: 20 classes. Next week the grade 1's have a three day field trip so I have 5 or 6 classes cancelled. In a couple more weeks the grade 2's will go to the Gyeonggi English Village so all their classes will be cancelled for a week.

Never, I am two months into my contract and have yet to have a full weeks worth of classes.

It seems that it won't happen any time soon either. I am curious to see what a full week is like but I am not complaning, it just gives me more time to surf the net and work on my business plan.

Efficiency is a word that I would never ever associate with my middle school.

Me too. But, the week after next, I have 4 days of no classes. Rolling Eyes

Plus, they always seem to fall when I have a cultural lesson planned Sad

I've just been informed of some schedule changes at my middle school. The Chinese teacher wants to have extra classes so some of my classes are getting bumped. Apparently, for the rest of the semester I will have 5 less classes each week. I'm only going to be teaching 15 or 16 classes. All the other teachers are like, "oooh...you're so lucky," and I'm actually kind of dissappointed....
