In my travels it's the worst beer I've come across bar none.

Overly carbonated and too sweet. Also needs more hops.

'Tis true...

Look at the beer adverts on korean TV. They always have some dude gasping at the 'bite' the beer has. 'Bite' can be translated as carbonation level. The more carbonated it is the more Koreans think, 'it's the real thing'.

Korean beer can't compare with European beer. Especially German, Dutch and Belgian beer.

I see it as fizzy water.

REMEMBER!! Fizzyness does not equal a good beer!!!

Amen. If you like Korean beer, you don't know what beer is.

Tsingtao, Singha beer, Tiger beer, and Japanese beer are all pretty good. Korea has some catching up to do.

Taking visitor q seriously is like taking a train from korea to china.

Still I figure pattaya might be a better destination than angeles city, but I heard the Philippines offers tranquillity as well.

Now excuse me while I go, well, you know....

I'm on vacation in the US right now and drinking great beer as often as possible. In the past few days I've had the St Bernardus Abt12 (Belgian, trappist, 12% abv), Samichlaus (Austrian Christmas ale, brewed once a year, 14%), Kostritzer (German black beer, 5%), Chimay blue (Trappist abbey ale, 9%), Hacker Pschorr Oktoberfest (popular German lager, 6%), and Bezelbuth (Belgian golden ale, 13%).

These are what I consider worthwhile beers. Hite, Cass, and OB aren't even beer. On two occasions, I drank over 3,000CC of Korean beer, alone, and didn't get so much as a buzz. All I got was a nasty feeling in my stomach from the low quality piss that was sloshing around.

Korea is where beer goes to die.

I can't wait to get home, dig out, and dust off the old brew kit...5 more months...

Korean beer is like the tap water here...its tolerable, and likely won't kill you, but you really shouldn't go there if you've got a choice....

I would have to agree that Singha & Tiger are good - especially Singha. I forget the story exactly, but some Belgian guy I believe started that brewery in Thailand, hence the reason for the fine taste. Tiger is good, but not great.

I can't agree with you on Tsingtao though. I think that beer is cuuuuraaaapuuuu! Very Happy
