Time to vote on those sounds or noises which grate the nerves while ensconced on the Gimchi Peninsula.

TOUGH ONE! I like them all.. particularly when I'm not in Korea.. this is a list you might have to frame and bring home.. and when you are bored out of your mind back in your home country you'll think of all these sounds and laugh at the the thoughts of them.

I know my favorite is the high heels clicking on the sidewalk..

Least favorite.. probably the microphones selling vegetables.. but I haven't lived anywhere in a long time to hear that sound in years..

Maybe the Korean pop songs.. I never really got into them.. and that can be real irritating at times..

The sound of 3 am soju casualties on their way back home (not me, silly!), singing at the top of their lungs, then stopping without fail outside our window to puke up their last couple of drinks.

Also : ensconced? Remember kids - never use a one-syllable word where a 3 or 4-syllable one will do!

(just joshing, there, big fella)

diesel engines.

Japan doesn't have that kind of noise pollution in the city, it's amazing how clearly you notice that when you travel frm K to J.

I don't like hearing pop music when I'm ferrying around beautiful Jejudo, nor do I like it when I'm about to walk into a cave. There are times when musical accompaniment just isn't necessary anymore.

The most annoying sound I've had in a year in Portugal is the incessant car honking (30 sec duration at a time)

The 2nd most annoying is the sound of all the people horking in the street and from the sounds of it (no pun intended) I've got a year of that to look forward to in Korea

The sound of adjoshi's fist smashing into his wife's face for hours on end while nobody in the apartment does anything about it.
