I plan on visting Japan for my week vacation. The trouble is that it isn't very well planned and I have yet to decide what way to get back to Korea. Might take the boat from Fukuoka or I may end up flying back from Saporro. It is pretty much up in the air.
Would customs in Japan give me any hastle if I do not have a return ticket with me when I arrive? I know this is often the case in Korea so I'm not sure.
-thanks in advance |

It won't be customs in japan that would give you the hassle but customs(or more specifically the airline check-in desk) in Korea as by law it is their job to make sure the flyer has an outwad ticket from the country that they are flying into......
I would make my mind up one way or another just to be safe |

Purchase a refundable one way ticket out of Japan with a date about 80 days after your arrival.
You get a 90 day stamp on arrival in Japan and the refundable ticket satisfies the onward passage requirement.
Simply cash the ticket in and make your own way home after. |

Get a round-trip ticket on the hydrofoil from Pusan to Fukuoka. It's around 200,000 won, give or take a man or two. Kangsan Travel offers a r.t. ticket with one night in a hotel in Fukuoka included. I went there twice and was never asked in Japan for a ticket back. Reserve a bit in advance to make sure you can get the hotel. |
