Does anyone know of any jobs open in Sinchon or Hongkik?
Are they extra hard to come by?
Newbie question, I know.

Id say a job in Hongik would be very hard to come by as its a large university. A jon in Shinchon shouldnt be. Hagwons are not very picky. |

A job at Hongik U. for a qualified applicant shouldn't be so tuff, particularly if said applicant is a woman, imo. however, unless it's some sort of emergency, Universities aren't hiring mid semester.

No, I don't.
Shinchon is an area with 3 major universities: Yonsei, Sogang, and Ehwa Womens. Shinchon Rotary (intersection) has many hagwons that cater to these students. It shouldn't be too hard to find a job at one of them. As others have said, Hongik is a university. I'm not aware of any hagwons in that area.
Your inquiry begs the question- why do you want to work in these areas? I would guess it is one of three reasons-
1. You want to be near areas that have many drinking places for foreigners.
2. You want to surround yourself with young, college-aged people.
3. Both of the above.
I worked at a hagwon at Shinchon Rotary (now defunct) for a year back in 1998. The chances to go drinking with your evening students are plentiful, let me tell you. |
