woah!!!! holddddddddddddddddddd up!
as a yeon su-er in a previous life yes, it is a crudhole, but its got:
all the stuff (lotte mart, cgv, and yer everywhere baskinrobbinsdunkin combos) that every other seoul satellite town has
lower cost of living compared to seoul
loads of hills to walk in
close to the sea and that park whose name escapes me, close to the delights of bupyeong and the uni's at inha
used to take an hour and a bit to get to seoul if you want to... the town is right next to the fast-developing area too so in a few years it'll be huge
well, i'll always have a soft spot for it anyway. good times |

Yeonsu-gu and Yeonsu-dong are the better parts of Incheon, IMO.
Near Song-do area- municiple museum, inchon landing memorial hall, restaurants, clubs and an 'amusement' "park" (both terms used loosely).
Fast express buses into Kangnam and downtown Seoul (faster and more comfortable than the subway).
Large new apt complexes.
If I were to market Yeonsu-gu, I'd bill it as "The Bundang of Incheon".
But it's not that close to Bupyong if all you want to do is drink your face off at the foreigner hang outs... but there are plenty of Korean bartenders to hit on in Song-do.
Songdo Beach Resort Hotel has a restaurant on the top floor that does a decent enough buffet.
And 'Kyungbokkung restaurant' is the best damned restuarant in Korea (at least it used to be, and of course that could also be due to the booze and the company kept, but anyway it's a swell place).

Apparently they are marketing it as 'new multimedia city' whatever the hell that means (no worse than Hi-Seoul I guess). |
