I was in Itaewon yesterday for shenanigans and tomfoolery.

The amount of scum that's in this country defies belief; it's hardly surprising the Koreans look down on us, as is claimed.

In order of appearance......

Scumbag #1:

Nashvilles, Itaewon.

boarish North American gentleman is victimized. His steak is over-done. What do you do in this situation - say politelty "excuse me, I'm awfully sorry but this steak is a tad over-done"? Oh no. Have temper tantrum, say the chef needs to go back to school, cause a scene.

Scumbag #2:

Nashvilles, Itaewon.

Lord of the Rings is playing on the TV. I absolutely hate Lord of the Rings myself and anybody who likes it - all boring gray old men of course. Three boring gray old North American men are spending their Saturday afternoon inflicting the LOTR trilogy on an unsuspecting SPIN. They'd just watched 1 and 2 but LOTR 3 was no-go, happily for me, sadly for the Three Boring Gray Old Bores.

Old bore demands to server that LOTR3 is shown. They're customers, they should get what they want, otherwise they're leaving. If you spent as much time learning Korean as you do watching movies involving big tree monsters for children, you might be able to communicate more effectively. If you weren't such a miserably vulgar and uncharismatic calamity of mother nature, you might be able to get what you want effortlessly.

Scumbag #3:

Family Mart.

Grossly overweight English girl (with horrible accent, grungy clothes and acne) requires a phonecard, unable to make a simple enough request politely in her native language (not that you'd think that was English), let alone Korean. Everyone in the whole world should point, laugh and spit at freaks like her.

Scumbag #4:

Black guy, complete with inevitable ghetto clothing and baseball cap, says "f you" to an old Korean lady as he leaves her food stand. Foul-smelling animal he was.

There were some nice waygooks yesterday too. But some of them really need to be hanged by the neck until they're very, very dead indeed.

Free World's guide to Scummy Waygookin:

ala http://www.eslcafe.com/forums/korea/viewtopic.php?t=53438&highlight=

#1 - Seconds after this picture was taken, a vicious ESL teacher shoved the young native into the wishing pond.

#2 - This hateful human is clearly about to rob the unsuspecting techno-wiz.

#3 - This ruthless swine has brainwashed the youth of Korea and made them all wear green to join the evil Canadian cult of doom.

Oh, the humanity! How ever did you cope with such a monstrosity trying to request a phone card? You had better return to Itaewon next weekend to research this vital topic further.

Thank goodness you are here to warn us!

I will be sure to go to Itaewon myself to point, laugh and spit just as you suggest.

damn right.
on my first trip to itaewon some lanky, beady-eyed canadian guy (he had a maple leaf patch on his jacket and everything) came up to me and asked 'hey man.. where can i find a hooker?' i said i didn't know, so he got all mad and started shouting 'hey, i'm just trying to have some fun! stop judging me, you fucker!' etc etc..
and then there are the ones you bump into on the subway, mid-40s guys with b.o and mismatched clothes, who go up to you and initiate a conversation, and then complain loudly about how all koreans are stupid, ignorant and racist, obviously unaware of how ironic that is. either that or, 'man, i hate this country, but the girls are damn hot! i was banging this chick the other day, lalalala'... in a really loud voice, thinking that absolutely nobody on the train can understand english.
there are just too many people like this. its no wonder we are so hated.

Next thread: what defines a scumbag waygookin? Don't get me wrong, I feel I'm a professional teacher, clean cut, mid-30's, but in the past you didn't see me wearing suits to work. With my new office job, these days I might be upgrading to wearing ties.

All I'm saying is that once classes are finished Friday evenings, it's okay to let loose a little.

Reminds me of a time I was in the airport....this idiot's luggage was way over the weight limit....so he started yelling at the lady like it was her fault. Apparently he thought the weight limit rule was unique to Korea. So after 5 minutes of hearing this fool going on and on, I had to step in and say a few choice words. It's amazing what those 4 words will do: STFU!!

At least we don't have the reputation of foreigners in Thailand. Not yet anyway.

Anyway, what kind of person would spend time in Nashville to begin with?

I'm sure you weren't sitting to pretty either from the vantage point of the Koreans working at the other side of the bar.

All of the clientele is regarded as 'one' in there. One big pig pen. Bet you forgot to clean your hands after you left.

Unknown to you, they probably classed you the same as the dropkicks that you were complaining about...

The ideal number of foreigners in Korea was reached the day after I arrived. It's well past time to start culling the ranks.

What a moronic post that epitomizes the output of the cretinous cantankerous Canadians on this forum.

Numbers are mine.

1. Someone who wants to have some steak and mash and whiskey with a buddy as refreshing change perhaps, or visiting there for the first time having heard they do good steaks and burgers.

2. I always sit pretty. Me and my mucker are handsome guys. We are also polite and speak Korean, which is always a refreshing change to Korean staff in Itaewon joints, accustomed as they are to being grunted at in harsh foreign slang. Only a self-hating misanthrope could believe workers simply hate all their customers.

3. I doubt that very much, but even if they did, ask me if I'm bothered.

Would like to point out that the little people in green were acting on a command by another teacher (who shall remain unidentifable to prevent Ya-ta Boy from getting overexcited) who is from BELOW Canada.
