No, not the one with the United States. The one with Kyrgyzstan.

Quote:
In March, South Korea struck a SOFA with Kyrgyzstan, a central Asian country where some 100 South Korean military medical personnel are stationed, to treat coalition troops injured in the anti-terror campaign in Afghanistan.

``South Korea has no clause in its SOFA to give jurisdiction to Kyrgyzstan whether incidents occur on or off duty,'' the source said. ``How can we ask the United States to abandon its jurisdiction?''

Ok, it's from a few years but it's news to me. I mean, can you believe that? What if there an incident involving.. well.. perhaps I'd better not go there. Suffice to say that the more I learn about SOFAs the less sympathy I have for the Korean point of view.

No kidding. I always thought that the ones who whined about the USA-ROK SOFA were the same ones who thought that the US was all that was holding South Koreans back from a friendly re-uniting with their bretheren in the North...

It's old news. Had you done a search, it probably would have popped up in a few threads.
