| nope, someone posted a thread on the iran thing, RR's post has a different slant, it's not about the iran thing, he's only using it to back up his argument about something else. |

Gotcha. well, its time for another beer for me then.. and I'm grooving to Neil Young's Harvest Moon in the PC-Bang.. what a weird Holiday start.. soon to crash for these daylight hours.. oh well.. its a good song what can you do?
And by the way, GirlFromMars, just to get totally off topic.. are you going to be in Korea for the get-together? |

tiger, i can't stop glancing at your avatar's boobs, they are so distracting, and I'm not like that regardless of what previous posts indicate.

I'm sure this is making you popular at the PC-bang! Neil Young to a Korean gamer's ear would be like sunlight to vampires... |

It's right around that point that the guy lights up a smoke.
Earlier this week in a pc-bang I was directed to sit in a seat right on the edge of the divider between the smoking and non-smoking section. 20 minutes later a guy came in and sat down in the smoking section - in the seat right next to me. He could have sat ANYWHERE else... |

Lemon, is this part of your push to make this topic off-forum?
I'm really looking forward to experiencing Korean pop. I survived a year and half in a small town in England with 2 radio stations that were basically top 10 boy bands & girl bands. I'm a sucker for punishment. I don't know many Neil Young songs but he's one of those artists I always feel like I should spend some time on one day.

Erm, on-topic, i agree with Gord, there ya go.
Tiger, I just realised you're still carrying on from your nite out and drunk! go home and sleep it off, don't you have to work today? |

Well I think so. I emailed the bf (already in K) to see if he'd mind, this was the email I got back...
Email from BF:
I have work to do, but I just want to respond to the get-together thing.
1) Meeting people in Seoul is a hard thing not to do. Going out of your way to meet people is really unnecessary -I, personally, could probably introduce you to many people whom you would like. Anyways, 99.9 percent of people here go out to get drunk as shit. I thought you said you were thinking about quiting. I know I am.
2) I couldn't bear it, but I will for you if you really feel you must go. It is to the T the kind of thing I would usually go out of my way to aviod, which, by the way, is not an easy thing to do in this environment.
3) I live near Hongdae. It is where all the foreigners go to get drunk and pick up Korean girls (if they're male) or hang out with guys trying to pick up Korean girls (if they're femail). Basically everybody is ugly, drunker than a teenagers whose parents are gone for the weekend and looking to get laid. It is in the running for all time lamest place I've ever been. I know you think I'm being cynical and exagerating, but I'm really not. On the other hand, many people love it. It could be your scene. Not mine. Still, I'll go with you if you want. But I probably won't talk to anyone.
Sorry if that sounded really critical. It's just that I'm going to spend so much energy trying to avoid situations exactly like that one, that I get a little annoyed. Sorry to be an ass.
hah! of course i'm going

Thats pretty funny! Hahaha.. actually I was in Shinchon and HongDae and later Itaewon tonight.. I've accumulated 4 phone numbers two of which have email addresses attached to them.
One of the phone numbers plus email address I've been staring at for 15 minutes trying to recollect exactly how I accumulated it.
Of the 4 contact numbers.. one girl is really hot!! She approached me on the way to a PC-Bang (Internet Cafe) and asked for directions.. I took that as a chance to get her phone #.. she's a cutie.. (probably never hear from her again - although I'll send a few text messages and an email I'm sure)..
The one I stared at for awhile is from a girl I took home another night but didn't recognize her and couldn't figure it out.. don't know what thats all about.. I probably won't call her or email her.. but i'll put it in my cellphone in case for whatever reason. hey you never know.
ANother phone number is from a woman who couldn't believe I was 33.. and told me she was 35 then she told me she was 29 then she told me she's alot older than me.. and then she flirted with me and kept touching me.. then she went to the bathroom and told me not to go anywhere.. and when she came back she was on her cellphone and heading out the door.. I left shortly thereafter and saw her on the street and she was still on her cellphone.. will i call her later? don't know.. put it in my cellphone as well for another time.. just in case..
The 4th number I accumulated.. oh dammit.. I just looked it up again.. its a dude.. its a guy who I've met before and he's a pretty cool guy.. and just ran into him for the first time in a long time and got his phone number..
Anyhow.......................................... I guess your boyfriend pretty much nailed HongDae on the head.. although I'm always trying to figure out where the phone numbers came from and who they are, etc.. fortunately tonight I just labeled them and will hopefully actually remember.. hopefully.. |
