Does anyone know a cheap place to stay near Incheon airport? One with a shuttle to the airport would be great (will pay a little more) or one directly on the airport bus line?

i missed my flight and rebooked for the following early morning and stayed in a yeogwan near the airport. it's called "airport city" or something like that and there are several to choose from. there is a hotel info desk at the airport and they can give you some options. my yeogwan was in the 60,000 range, but it was 15 min from incheon airport and included shuttle. be sure the front desk understands what time your flight leaves.

your best bet is just to go to the airport info desk and they will arrange for a yeogwan shuttle nearby to come and pick you up.

the cheapest i could find was 50,000 or so .... they jack up the prices in airport city. you could go into incheon city and find something cheaper, but it will take longer to get to the airport .... these expensive places are only 15 min away. depends on how early your flight leaves i suppose.

I stayed at the Incheon Airport Backpackers' Hostel when i first came to Korea. The price was around 40,000 - 45,000 for a single room. It's 5 or 10 minutes away from the airport, in a very isolated location with a couple of houses and small restaurants nearby. I had to reserve the room off another site...you can do an internet search for it, there are several hostel websites where you can make a reservation. It's not the nicest place I've stayed in Korea, but more than passable.
Here's a link that popped up on a yahoo search: http://www.hostelz.com/hostel/32740-Incheon-Airport-Backpacker-Hostel.

You could also try the Incheon Guesthouse, they're posting a rate of 38,000 per night for a single room. I haven't stayed there, so I can't offer any comments, but it's a bit cheaper than other options. Have a look at their site: http://www.ghincheon.com.

This one sounds pretty good...except I read the reviews and, while I don't need luxury, CLEAN is always good!

Holy hellfire. This place would only be suitable for insects and roaches. This place is a complete dive. I would not recommend this to anyone. Not even my worst enemy. The hot water was a few pulsing seconds of heat, then a constant pulse of icy cold water. Horrible!!! The bathrooms were unclean

Is it as bad as this???

I didn't have a bad experience or else I wouldn't have recommended it. I thought the place was clean enough, although I'm racking my brain now trying to remember if anything was even remotely bad about my stay. As I mentioned in my PM to you, it was my very first exposure to South Korea, so I might have been willing to accept any condition as "the way it is here"...although I seriously doubt if I'd settle for a filthy hovel. Give them a call and chat with the owner or his wife...she speaks much better English than he does. Whether or not you choose to stay there, good luck and have a safe trip!

Hi Ajuma,

I don't know if this helps or not - but I used to stay in a VERY nice love motel just a couple blocks from the COEX mall. They have a City Air Terminal at COEX and it is only about 60-70 minutes to the airport from there - with buses leaving as early as about 05:30. The nice thing about the City Air terminal is that you can check your baggage direct (if with KAL (for sure) or Asiana (I think) - and you can clear immigration there - so you don't need as much time at the airport. I think you can also get your boarding pass there! Even better - one time there I got upgraded to business class! Yeee Hawwwwww!

Heading towards Samsung Ro (street) just across Teheran Ro from the Pohang Steel Building (also Dongbu Building) - there is a decent love motel district. In the 50k-60k range. I used to stay at the LET's Motel for about 60k - very nice - free internet - AFN on the tube, BIG jacuzzi bath tub, yada yada. Nice too as it is walking distance to COEX.

Let me know if interested - I can get you their phone number (which you can give to a taxi driver to call and get directions).

I am tedkarma on the other board - you know me - so just send an e-mail if you want more specifics.

Happy vacation! Where are you going?

I've stayed at the Hotel Sky. It is about 10 minutes away, and they have a convenient, and free, shuttle, as well as free internet. There is decent food closeby. I'm pretty fussy about noise, and the place was plenty quiet, and clean. I paid 50,000 for a nice room with a good bed.

The information desk at the airport has the information and will call them to pick you up, but if it is on your way out of town, they speak decent English at the desk.

Thanks all for your help! I think I'll go to the airport and ask at the information desk. Hotel Sky sounds the best...I have to be at the airport at 7 am!

My flight will not be in until after 10pm. Is there any shuttle service running then?

If I remember correctly, they picked me up pretty late- as I had already missed the last train to Daegu. But call them and ask!

Hub Herb is pretty good and its also in the airport town square, 70k/nite they charge me and thats low since i've been using it since 2002. Nice quiet rooms with nice clean facillities. Not going to do much better in the ICN area

If you call them they will pick you up from exit 7 departure level

A little off topic, but are there decent love hotels available in Incheon city near the subway stop? I'll be making my way over there on Saturday and wondering if I can find a room there as easily as I could in Suwon.

edit: if not around that subway stop, could anyone recommend a better subway stop?
