|
|
Hi
I just received my E-2 Visa in the mail and I'm confused! On the 'Period of Sojourn' line it says 01Y yet my 'Issue Date' is 2006/04/04 and my Expiry Date is 2006/07/04???
I phoned the Consulate where it was issued and after much questioning I still could not understand her explanation. Can anybody fill me in? I have a position for teaching for 1 year and thought my Visa would demonstrate this.
Thanks

When you get to Korea, and recieve your ARC, the visa is extended for the full year. If you don't enter Korea by 2006/07/04, then the visa expires |

Thank you for a simple answer!
Do I take my passport in with me when I apply for my ARC and do they extend the visa then?

The visa permits you to enter the country, which you must do before the visa expires 3 months after issue.
The ARC card is like a residence/work permit, separate from your entry visa. |

Yup, along with some photos. Depending on your nationality, it might be good to apply for a re entry permit too (so you can travel outside Korea on vacation) |
