It's been about 45 days since I was hired and I'm still getting the runaround about getting my medical insurance card. What's the usual waiting time? |

Can be sorted in a a couple of hours if the sorters are so inclined! Sounds like you're getting a run around to me... |

You are getting the run around.
What's worse, when you do get it (if in fact you ever do), you will pay from the date on your ARC, meaning you will pay for coverage you never got because your boss is messing with you.
You need to get firmer. |

New rule is that medical coverage is now mandatory. You only have to pay medical insurance starting in January this year. It doesn't go by the start date on your ARC unless you started in 2006. If you started in 2005 then you only have to pay coverage from January 2006. If you re-sign during this year, the same applies.
Anyway, just find their phone number and call them. They'll ask for your ARC number and tell you whether there have been any contributions or not. You can do the same with your pension by calling their office. |
