in unrelated events both my ipod (no menu display, but can hear music, just cant change it) and canon digital camera (won't even turn on) are busted. Anyone know of where I can take either of these two expensive but way too sensitive to carrying around electronic appliances in Seoul to get repaired. I will owe you a beer or four
thanks

ipod sucks, you have to replace that lithium battery every year and half and it costs like 300 dollars to replace it, they want you to buy the next ipod. get a new digital audio device that uses regular batteries. no idea about digicames

wow, what a helpful reply.

http://www.apple.com/support/ipod/service/battery/ - the battery doesn't cost 300 bucks. (though the way you worded it could imply you mean replacing the whole ipod).

go to the apple store in coex. my ipod was replaced, no questions asked, within a week. they didn't even ask for my warranty info. the service guy i talked to had superb english.

but first - try a hard reboot - i think it's holding down the menu and pause button at the same time for ten seconds. if that doesn't work, update the software. if that doesn't work go to coex and buddy will help you out.

the canon will likely be a bigger hassle, but i don't know. my canon has been rocking for 2 solid years without a problem. any canon store (there's one right near gangnam station) would probably be able to direct you towards a service center. or go to the camera stores near namdaemun market, across from the bank of korea building.
