The thunderstorm in Seoul last night got me thinking that mushroom season is soon appraoching.

With that said, does anybody have any experience with mushroom hunting in Korea?

What is the ideal time of year for their growth and where are the most ideal locations?

I'm thinking about heading to Mt. Sorak during May long, and any advice would be helpful.

Thanks

No just mushrooms in general. I'm a bit of an amature mycologist and I have a good idea of what to look. I have heard that the fly agaric does grow here, but i'm not too sure about Apgujeong Wink .

Can anybody recommend a good website where I could learn about buying and cooking mushrooms? I love them, but don't know the first thing about them.

I like both funny mushrooms and normal mushrooms. I have no probs getting the normal ones. Now for the funny ones... My Lonely Planet says I need a doctor's prescription for the funny ones. Now, how do I go about this? Should I tell the doctor "I am not hallucinating enough" these days?? I hear you can buy them in any traditional market, but yeah, you need that prescription... not quite sure how to go about explaining to a doctor I am not hallucinating enough. Confused
