Hi, I'm going to be coming to Korea for the first time in September after I graduate and have a quick question.
Do the apartments that schools provide have internet connections, or is it possible to get one? It's just I was thinking of bringing my laptop along but it would only be worth it if I can get an internet connection.
Also wish I'd found this forum before I'd been signed up by the recruiter 'I-to-I'. Have now paid a load of money for them to hopefully find me a job. Oh well, you learn from your mistakes and at least I can let you all know how it goes!
Cheers guys. |

| You will be able to have internet connection very easily. Most people use the phone company service because it is good, cheap and easy to arrange. Korea is more wired than your own country, unless you are from Iceland, in which case you would be ineligible to come teach here. I pay less than $1(US) a day. |

| Seemed a good thing at the time. No hassle and all that. I don't need reminding about the money side of it! |

Shame about paying the recruiter, but alls well that ends well. Hopefully you'll have an OK job.
Internet will be easy to get anywhere, whether you're in a big city or in the countryside, don't worry about that. Chances are its at least 10x as good as back home as well, if you like to download movies and the like.
Hope it all works out, forget about that paying that recruiter lark.. it was a mistake but theres plenty of worse ones to make. Like signing with a crappy school. Lets hope you don't do that now =) |

Shame you used I to I, but too late. As other people said it is quite simple to get an internet connection to your apartment.
However, a coworker of mine who moved into a brand new apartment couldn't get a connection for quite a while because they hadn't laid the lines or something like that. Much to his dismay 'cos he couldn't talk to his mummy regularly on MSN. |
