Trolling is (psycho) Man's Work

Your heart's not in it. It's the easy condescension, the inability to comprehend other people's thoughts meaningfully (as if they didn't matter), and a bravado in idiocy in statements that the troll obviously considers is God's great beneficence to human-kind that irks.

You just qualify your trolling too much to really troll. (Unless you're doing it for comic effect).

edit: Well, since you post this in "post nothing of interest" thread, I can see the comdey. It's one of those slow burners, and I just got it. Yay!

In my two years on Dave's, I've seen nearly every species of troll & sock-troll come and go. Planting fake stories, stalking people, starting flamewars -- you name it, I've seen it. Different names, different personas, different tactics. Sometimes a regular poster just decides to go trolling (much as I'm doing here), or sometimes they go to the bother of creating a sock to do their dirty work. Some are crude & rude, some are funny, usually they're combative, and always looking to stir things up.

But in spite of this seemingly rich diversity of troll guises and tactics, they all have one common trait. They've all been male, whether as indicated by their user name & avatar or by their comments. Oh, I'm sure there are many logical explanations for this: most Dave's members are male, women just don't like trolling, think it's infantile, etc., and we all know they don't have what it takes to be very good at it even if they tried. Right? And of course, trolling is officially frowned on by moderators & website owners anywhere. But that sure as hell hasn't prevented its regular occurrence here on Dave's.

Now someone might ask just how do I know for sure that none of the trolls we see on Dave's are female. Frankly, this question is pathetic and doesn't warrant a response. Whatever, the fact remains that although a few show signs of promise, women as a whole suck at trolling, and the one decent female troll I've ever seen on Dave's doesn't post here anymore.

This thread keeps inching ever-so-slowly towards interesting. Have you people no self-control whatsoever?

I think there have been at least two effective female trolls on here. Princess and Jade Redux...but then again, maybe the posters behind the persona's are male anyway, who knows?

I think I'm gonna buy some new coathangers this week. And I have a mateless sock that I'll probably throw away.

I suppose interest is relative. I hope you find this less interesting than I did.

Tonight a young lady was waiting for a taxi, a little too far out in the roadway.
Suddenly, she was distracted by her cell-phone.
OK, a driver might honk and she'd move, or the car might swerve a bit, but
an ambulance came bearing down on her, lights flashing and siren blasting.
She didn't even look up from her phone.

Board seems a little quiet today.

Say, why did that "Now really, What the F($&% draws you to Itaewon?" thread get yanked just as things were getting good? Or so I guess, as I didn't see the final posts.

They pull that one yet leave this thread. I'm baffled.

Is an ox just a castrated bull?
If so, how is it different than a steer?

Most non-farm people ask, sooner or later, "What is the difference between a steer and an ox?" Pat Norton patiently explained:"The best way I can tell you is that a steer is a young ox which hasn't been castrated. Usually they are castrated at six months to two years. An ox is just an old steer that has been castrated."

Hey, at the beginning of this thread Mr. J. Guru announced that nothing of interest was to be posted until he got back in 5 or 6 days. Well, it's been more like a month now so I think this thread has safely overun its course. You would all do well to visit my threads as it has been said loud and often that I always post nothing of interest...
