I want to travel to Thailand on July 29 - August 6 and I had a couple of questions for anyone who has been there.

1. It is my understanding I will not need a VISA being a US citizen as long as I don't stay for longer than 20 days or so.

2. Is my E2 Visa a multiple entry Visa and will I have any trouble getting back in Korea?

hi, i am an american and i went to thailand last february. you are correct, you wont need a visa. they will stamp your passport and tell you how long you can stay, i think you can stay a long time wihtout a visa. maybe 30 or 90 days.
your Korean visa will say if it is a multi entry visa or not. you should be able to read it somewhere. I dont have my passport with me and cant remember the exact phrase, but i believe it will just say "multiple entry' or "M"
another way to know, how much did you pay for it? i think a regular visa for a single entry costs 50,000 won and a multi entry costs an extra 30,000 won.

maybe someone else will see these and double check my numbers, as i am just going off of memory and havent gone to immi since august.

have a nice trip, and maybe next time you should post this in the travel forum...

That's right. You don't need a visa to get into Thailand or back into Korea.
BTW there's an aprox. $20 airport fee on the way out of the country. Don't be surprised.

Thanks for the help. I just checked my Visa and it's an M class. Looks like I am all set.

Since I've traveled in and out of the Philippines numerous times I am quite used to the terminal fees. Hmmm its interesting what you tell me about the 60 -90 days though. In October I am planning on going back to Thailand to get my Celta certification. I am planning on staying October 11 - December 2. It would be cool if I could do so without the whole Visa thing with the consulate.

You're all set, dude. Just don't forget to save 500 baht for the terminal fee when you leave. I have friends who had to literally beg to get on their flight.

Have a great time, and remember these words of wisdom..."The feet never lie."
