It's has great transportation for getting to other parts of the country.
Friendly locals.
Had a nice expat population in 97/98. Maybe they are still nice? Laughing
Couple of foreigner hangouts.
Good talk-kal-bi restaurant downtown.

It's a city with not so many cultural things to see and do but you can be in Seoul in 1 1/2 hours. Taegu in 2 hours. Pusan in 3 hours?

Daejun. Not much to look for. It has some restaurants with decent food at reasonable price. I like some 'mook' restaurants and duck BBQ restaurants in northen outskirts. Yummy~ They serve the acorn jelly with special soy sause. It looks like a noodle dish. Apart from food, clean air, I must say it's quite boring.

I've hung out a good bit in Daejeon, and I haven't had any horrible experiences... The downtown market (Jungang) is pretty disappointing for a city of Daejeon's size, if you're a fancier of markets.
