Motts Clamato juice... man, I could drink a litre of that stuff straight no problem... add vodka and it's even better. They used to have it with caesars here at Beavers Wing's in Hongdae, but unfortunately that place has long closed down.

Is it available????

I make it myself. Not that hard, once you learn how.... Wink

A LOT cheaper too!

kck,

You mean the owner? I know him too, used to get it brought out with friends from Canada.. it wasn't aquired locally.

Damn that was a good bar.

Quite frankly, I am quite interested in learning how to make my own though...

I have to say I miss blind patriotism. On a more serious note I miss:

Close friends of 10 years.

SUVs and urban sprawl

Cheap gas

Driving

Hunting and snowmobile seasons (not really).

Beaches that don't have blue tubes going out to sea or bouys to hold you in or cyclone fences.

Blind patriotism.

War on terror (I miss it here to because it seems like it's already over).

Going to my favorite record store Neptune Records.

Buttery bland foods.

Expensive Korean food

24 resturants that always serve breakfast

Illicit drugs, you name it

2am bar closed ("You don't have to go home, but you can't stay here!")

Having to pour money into and relying on an automobile.

Camel cigarettes

Large dogs

Only two traffic jams at the same two times only on the weekdays

Live bands

Good music culture

Avoiding certain places that may be dangerous in the city

Going to potentially dagerous parts of the city where the best bars are

Living in the part of the city where two blocks away you would never go to after dark

Seeing different kinds of people

No having to think about what kind of language to use for the certain person I'm talking to

Big cell phones

AMERICAN Princesses

Donairs.
Cheese
Being a pizza cook by trade (A real trade in NS I suspect) I could go nuts here....but alas no oven...

Uechi-Ryu Karate
Tim Hortons ...anyone wanna split on a shop?
silence
the quiet rural road leading out to other quiet rural roads
seeing horses, dairy farms...and live animals in the woods.
Nova Scotian rednecks
The Rez
the peelers (ralphs)
Turkish coffee and Ouzo (spent too much time with pizza shop co-workers)
Alexander Keiths Beer (pronounced 'Keets'; as in Gimmie a Keets while you're there")
Lune cruizing (driving around wasting gas)
Sobeys and Superstore
IMAX
wing night....15c a wing with the purchase of a drink
Diet Pepsi

....so many to think of. Interesting how we all write these down and they give some insight to who we are, even if only to ourselves...

Still while we miss so many different things from home we are probably all here for only a handful of similar reasons. Think how when we achieve what we want to here; just how good those things will be when we decide to return to them!

Cheers

Things I miss:
family
my mother's food, especially pie
friends
keith's beer
wrestling tournaments on the playstation with my friends
watching the habs
CFL
grass (not the stuff you smoke)
trees
quiet
a refreshing breeze
tim hortons
being considered an average weight
coffee crisp
cheaper books
canadian tv (or at least more English stations)

For those who are new to Korea, COSTCO is really helpful for getting by. I know there are a couple of locations in Seoul: Yang jae and I think Young dung po (sp?)

You know all you Tim Hortons lovers....if you write the company enough letters you might be able to get a shipment sent over to you and you might even be featured on one of those "our story" commercials Wink
I write a letter everyday in hopes they'll send me a can of the good stuff!!!

I had a can of gorund Tim Horton's coffee in Canada, and it just wasn't the same as the double double you get at the drive-through. A chocolate glazed, boston cream and bavarian cream sound good right about now.

Ody,

Assuming you are not in a rural area, avocados (though pricey) and olives are easy to find in the larger supermarket chains here. Carrefour and Homeplus have them. I assume other chains do as well.

I don't want to sound like an ad, but you can get jack, pepper jack, bree and many other types of cheese at COSTCO. You have to buy in bulk, but you can cut it up and freeze it. They have olives on pizza here, so I am sure they are readily available. Salmon is here, but bloody expensive and I don't know how fresh. I have no idea what conch roties are, but they sound like something that will destroy your teeth!!!
