Anyone know where I can get a copy in English in Korea?

How much would they cost?

Is it possible to download them?

Anyone have a copy and willing to make some deal on it?

Yongsan or ebay

Too much, because Vista will be out in 7 months.

Yes. But illegal.

That would be illegal.

Go to the building beside Sunin Plaza (basement) -- they always have a few copies hanging around of '98 and XP -- or just order from ebay -- lots of stuff there.

5th or 6th floor of space 9 at yongsan... go to the microsoft desk. You can get an OEM original of XP(sp2)-home for 110k won, OEM XP-pro(sp2) for 170k won, full box for 200k and 400k respectively...

In the tunnel you can get pirated copies for 20k won....but they are NOT updateable/upgradeable...

you can also download a pirate copy with any peer to peer program (torrents or limewire) but be careful of viruses (scan before you open). Again you cannot update or upgrade them.

Vista is scheduled to be out in 7 months... but that reminds me of Win93 that ended up being win95 before it was released.... and that didn't have an IP stack even though the "internet had been discovered" back in 91. Your stack was an add-on until win98....

Ah... gotta love Microsoft... gives piracy a good name.

... learn linux dude ... real computers don't have 400MB multilevel help files, with icons that spring up and start talking to you and point and click GUI's that'll never let you see what's going on in the system. Real computers are open-source. Real computers don't even have windows ...

Real computers are computers you can really use for the things you really need or want them to do. If a linux box works for you, great.

Agreed ... but OP already stated that it was to be used as a second computer to just goof around and learn stuff. Regardless of whether Linux works for me or not, for that purpose it's excellent for just about anyone...

The irony is that the best advice is to stay away from Linux until it costs money.

Shocked

... true and true ... Smile

Seriously though, Windows isn't a bad OS either. It trys to do everything, and gets about 50% of it done quite well.

I'm not of the opinion that using linux makes you some kinda computer whizz.

I just can't stop chipping one in for the team whenever the chance comes along ... Smile
