|
|
Did anyone eat at the taco restaurant in Itaewan on Saturday night? This is the little place opposite Hamilton Hotel. My guy and I were excited to try it for the first time, there being a severe lack of decent mexican food places, and it was really good. The next day, though, we were suffering. Let's just say we spent the day indoors, and thank gawd we have 2 bathrooms.
He was worse than me, but I ate less rice and refried beans. I don't know if this was just a shock to the system from absence of regular mexican feedings, or a true case of food poisoning, but we were pretty miserable. This was the only place that our friends didn't eat at with us that night. Just wondering if anyone had a similar experience from eating there on Saturday? |

| Go out exit 2, then go over the crosswalk like you're going to Itaewon and turn left after you cross the street and pass the Lexus building. About halfway down the street. You might miss the taco place if you're not looking, but Thunder Burger is very obvious. |

Bit tricky to find...
Head out exit 3 or 4 (near the McDonald's), and walk towards Yonsei university.
At the first major intersection/crosswalk/clusterfu(k (by the large record shop), make a soft right and walk a few minutes. You'll see it on the right. You can get 3 phatty tacos and a drink for around 7,000. The super burritos are awesome as well. |

There have been mixed reviews on my board (I do not dare post the link on here ) about the place. I will never eat there again. [/url] |

The veggie burrito there is quite nice (the mushrooms are a nice touch) but the amount of salsa offered with tortilla chips is pretty paltry, and worse still, they offer guacamole, but it's essentially the salty-frozen-Costco kind. No excuse for that.
My favorite is still Dos Tacos in Gangnam. When I eat a potato burrito there, I'm always tempted to cry as I'm finishing it. It's that good. |

Could you give us some directions?
(Subway station and exit number, telephone number, etc.?)
Thanks. |

It's by the Kyobo Tower intersection. It's on the right side, going south towards Gangnam station and Yangjae, about 1/4 of the way down the street. Big enough sign on the street, though the restaurant is tucked back off the road a ways. I don't know any subway exit stuff because I always catch a bus down to that area.
Wasn't impressed first time I went there. Second time thought it was much better than before. The cook recommended the pork burrito to me, as he said it's his strong point and I'm a burrito guy. |

I usually go out exit 6 at Gangnam Station, and go 3 or 4 blocks past two Body Shops, past Paris Croissant and Steff Hotdogs, and on a ways. It's in the same building as a big ol' Haagen Daaz, so you'll take a quick left when you see the sign (if you haven't noticed the sign reading Dos Tacos.)
Happy hunting. |
