This smacks of desperation. Walcott has never played in the premiership. Sven has never seen the kid play in any kind of match. Hes only seen him train. Taken the heat off Rooney though, maybe thats the plan |

Yes I thought of an immediately appropriate Grolsch advertisement when I heard this, however, I think he has picked him for his speed!!! The lad is super quick, he would leave Owen, Defoe and Rooney for dead!!!
Thought he would have picked Bent myself with him being the highest scoring englishman, but that wouldn't make sense would it!!!
Saying that I think it might turn out alright, flick on by Crouch or through ball from Lamps, Gerrard, Cloe, Beckham and he's away!!! I saw him play at 16 and he was awesome then playing with a load of drop outs, 8 months later and he has been training with Henry, Fabregas, Berkamp, Reyes etc etc Im sure he's picked up a few more skills!
Always a surprise in the world cup, who had heard of Toto Schillachi before 1990, don't think the Italians even knew who he was but he got golden boot! |

Check him out here......
http://www.metacafe.com/watch/56388/theo_walcott/
He's got something. They say he glides.
He wont be burdened by responsibility,no other teams will know about him ( even we dont!) ,Arsene wenger himself said pick him!
If he comes on in the warm up games and scores it will be hard to leave him off the team list coz there is a massive massive gap between Michael owen and whoever is below him as next choice striker.
I dont think there is anything more exciting in football than a man-child player coming through and lighting up the show .
Ive got a funny feeling though that its going to be Crouch's world cup.. |

Really ???
We only have four strikers !
One of those is Rooney..unlikely to be fit
Another is Owen ... Unfit and likely to get injured again.
Another of those is Crouch ...Never designed to be a front man .
If England are a goal down EVER with 12 mins to go he will come on.
He will play one minute.

Looking at that video again he seems be comfortable to shoot with both feet.....that is quite rare. Rooney and Owen are both weak on their left peg. |

You must be on the wind-up mate.
Anyway Rooney will be fit, i'm keeping the faith.
I broke my second metatarsal three years ago and had my cast taken off 4 weeks later. Still hurt like fook kicking a football for a couple of weeks and i had hardly any strength in my leg.
But if you've got the best doctors in the world, an oxygen tent and Coleen deepthroating you everynight i'm sure he's in a lot better hands than i ever was.
In all seriousness though its not BEYOND the realms of possiblity that Ferguson and Eriksson have got together to completely take the pressure off Rooney. The press aren't leaving him alone, but the stories they are printing aren't of him being the big saviour and star of the world cup, they are focusing on whether he will be fit.
Also, dont you find it a bit suspicious that the day after his injury all the photos were of him looking rather cheerful?? Not completely distraught.
He's obviously damaged his foot, how bad is the question.....
I'm just saying, it wouldn't be a HUGE surprise if he suddenly got fit....
Conspiracy theory over. |
