Are you going to go with Vista or stay with XP?

Tiger Beer got me thinking that the real question should be this.

Well, any takers? Is anyone going to be one of those dorks you see on the news filled with glee at getting their shiny new box at 12:03 am after four days on concrete? Or are you happy with XP for now...?

I'll get Vist when two things happen. First, other people find and discover solutions for all the problems, and second, when I upgrade to hardware that can run it full tilt.

Never believe minimum requirements from MS.

Interesting topic. I am yet to do my homework on Vista. Can you guys update me a bit. I know its' release date has been pushed back to 2007 was it? Also, what are the min. requirements?

XP has been great for me thus far. Don't see why I would change just for the OS. When XP came out vs. millenium and 98, man was it a Godsend. XP is so stable and sound now, it would be hard to go out and purchase Vista.

Yeah why switch? It will no doubt be preinstalled on all new machines so there is no decision to make, I guess.

Lets see.... win93 ended up being win95 and was several slices short of even being a 1/2 loaf.... Win98 didn't work until SP2 and still needed to be rebooted on a regular basis.....Millenium was a short lived JOKE and died a quick death, WinXP was full of holes and MS is still releasing patches even after SP2....

Can ANYONE give me a GOOD reason to switch BEFORE they release the bug fixes in the Vista SP2??

My thoughts exactly. I won't be purchasing Vista until it is solidified. In response to the other poster, I would say if you are the type of person to purchase the pre-packaged computers, then yes, you won't have a choice.

If you are like me and several others that build their own PC's, you will ALWAYS have the option.
