I've decided to sell my 12" Powerbook. Don't get too excited yet ... the machine is approaching 3 years old. I can hardly say that it's like new. It's not new at all. It's served me very well. A year ago the hard drive crapped out, but it was replaced under warranty with a brand new hard drive.
At the time I bought it, it was a souped-up machine, but obviously three years on the new machines humbled it. Here, then are the specs:

60 GB Hard Drive
640 Ram
867 MHz processor
OSX 10.4 Tiger
Superdrive (ie. DVD-R)
Airport built-in (ie. Wireless-internet capable)
Bluetooth built-in

ASKING: 500,000 won

I can give the original discs + original copy of Tiger OS. I'll help installing some other software if requested.

I'll say that there's points on the frame that are a bit dented or scratched. But it's nothing that affects the operation of the computer. I've factored in these dents when I came up with my price.

I already have an imac and want to buy one of the new macbooks for my second computer.

If you're new to Mac, consider it a chance to try out the Mac experience with the benefits of a Powerbook, which is still a good computer as far as they go, small enough to take with you anywhere and connect wirelessly.

I live in Seoul. If you don't know what you're doing, I'll spend a few hours showing you how to use it.

Is the software legit? If so, what versions? And, would you consider selling them seperately from the machine?

Im not in the market for the powerbook itself (just ordered a new mac today) but I might be interested in some of the programs. Photoshop and Illustrator are two titles currently on my list of purchases. If the "etc" in your post includes any audio applications/ plugins, or visual/ design/authoring applications I may be interested in them as well.

What's its cosmetic condition? I've heard these things dent easily.

Also, do you have the OSX Tiger discs?

I'll reply to both cheem and re:cursive's questions here.

Let me just dodge one question, and say that I do have a lot of software that I've legitimately purchased, but software's expensive and I hold onto it dearly. Then again, I did post a long time ago trying to sell legit versions of Final Cut Express 2 and Logic Express. Still don't know what to do with the extra copy of Final Cut Express I have, but decided to keep the Logic, though I still don't know how to use it well.

As for the other question about the cosmetic condition, it does have a few knicks and dents on the frame. As you heard, it does dent easily; however, in my opinion, the powerbook is a strong machine that can withstand its scratches, and even gain character by them, especially when compared to the more plastic-y toy-like feeling of an iBook.

As for the Tiger disc, I do have an original, legit copy of it. I'm a little hesitant to give it up, just in case my other computers crash, but yeah I could include that in the sale.

Nice dodge.

Good decision....It's a program worth learning.

I didn't sell this the first time I posted it. I figure I'll try again at a lower price:
500,000 won (will include the Tiger OSX discs)

Would like to sell it, so I can get the funds quicker to go ahead and buy one of the new Macbooks. PM me or reply to this thread, if you're interested. Thanks.

Can you PM me some pictures (especially the dents and scuffs that you mention) please.

Thanks,

It's still available. No one has looked at it yet, which is why I lowered the price from 650,000 to 500,000.

I don't mean to be insulting when I say that at 350,000 I'd be really interested, if it's still available...

867 MHz processor

Wow, for antique value alone it's worth more than the half mil.

Good one!! Ha ha.

I only need a "lapper" for reading/watching in bed, occasionally bringing to work, and maybe recording some guitar. So, 867 would work fine.

to the OP:

dude, why are you wasting your time trying to sell it to these cheapskates?

get a Korea friend to list it on maczoo, or kissmac, or any one of the other Korean mac sites that are out there and you could probably get at least 750,000 - 800,000 for it ...

yeah i agree with the last post. I sold my laptop to a second hand dealer for 150,000 more than i was offered on here, and he probably would have gone higher had I not bitten his hand off!
Sell it to Koreans who will compare it price-wise to macs in Korea, not macs in the States.
