What do I need to take with me to the labor board to file a compaint? Documents, forms, information, etc.?????? The labor office is two hours away and I only have one shot at this so I need to know everything I have to take with me.

You need your contract, pay stubs, a calendar with a record of days worked(not necessary but good to have) and your ARC card.....a Korean friend would also be helpful!

It's going to take waaay more than one shot, assuming you're going to file a whatsitcalled, a 불...불...hm, can't remember the name of the form. It took us (myself and two Korean girls) a total of three months to get paid when the former boss was being really stubborn. Eventually we had to get all the stuff in his office put up for a police auction and he finally gave in a day before the auction started because then anybody could have just walked in and taken every single piece of office equipment at one low low price.
The law was strengthened a few months ago giving larger penalties to bosses that refuse to pay salaries, and I think there's a larger mark on their record as well though it was a while ago so I don't remember the details.

I have my contract, but I'm being paid in cash so I have no pay stubs. I have two handwritten reciepts (I think you could call them reciepts and I had to beg for these. ) but thats it. I have been paid a little more but not another full month.

I have no korean friends that can go with me to the labor board. I understand there may be some free advocates or lawyers that can help. Any info. ??

Mithridates where did you stay while all this way going on? Did you get another job?

Well, usually lawyers will cost you dough.

What are you going for (what is your labor complaint?) as this might dictate what papers you need and how long the process might take.

If you will be switching jobs did you get your release from your current employer? You need to make sure you did because without it it will be very difficult (read not possible) to get a new E-2 (if that is your visa) and a new legal job. This might mean money to spend as you have to live without a paycheck.

Consider that you might have to to find accomodations for yourself as well as your school is not going to let you stay in the appartment if you do not work there. You might have an opening there about getting your release letter.

Good luck anyway! Very Happy
