Hi. I'm supposed to be sorting out my visa next week but i can't find the UK website for the consulate in London. I have a fair idea where it is, but I wanted to know the opening times and so on. Also, to anyone who's processed their visa there, is it similar to Japan where you have to wait overnight, or can you be in and out in a day (don't fancy paying all that money for a hotel room in the city)?
Thanks for any help. Johnny.

Can't remember how I got their website. Try some creative googling.

But no, you can't get a visa the same day. Think it takes a couple of days for them to arrange it

The consulate is 60 Buckingham Gate, walking from the palace end, it is on the right side of the road. Telephone: 020 7227 5500/2. You can go in the morning or afternoon but they have a two hour lunch break (between 12 and 2 if I remember rightly).

The bad news is you have to wait six working days for the visa to be processed. They will post it to you for a few pounds to save the return journey a week later.

My information is quite recent, I got mine last month. Good luck!

Yeah I can second that. I posted mine to the consulate in London yesterday and enclosed a prepaid self addressed special delivery envelope so that they can post it back to me. I was told that 5 working days are required to process the visa.

As for opening hours you need to call between 10am - 12pm or 2pm and 4pm.

Hope this helps. [/quote]

Thats odd, because mine only took 3 working days. I went about 6 weeks ago, went down on a Tuesday morning, and picked it up on the Friday. Cost about 27 quid.

Here is a link to their website: http://korea.embassyhomepage.com/

Same here. It only took three days to process mine in September last year. I think you have to drop your documents off during their morning opening hours and you can only pick up your completed visa during their afternoon opening hours.

They only accept cash as payment for your visa. NO CHEQUES or CREDIT CARDS.

Thanks for those replies. I think I'll head down with all the paperwork and have them post it back then. Johnny.
