I was able to get credit for my flight from the US to Korea (paid by the school) because the E-ticket was in my name. You may want to try the same thing.
I know that United Airlines (airline I flew) gives you up to 12 months AFTER a flight to claim credit. You may get turned down by your airline, but there's nothing to lose by trying. |

I did the same with NorthWest. Though, I was told I had to request the mileage BEFORE I flew, which I did |

It doesn't matter who pays for the ticket. The person whose name is printed on the ticket gets the flight mileage credit. When you check in at the airport, just give them your mileage ID number and you'll get the credit. |

Yep, that's why they're called Frequent Flyer Miles and not Frequent Person Who Pays for the Ticket Miles.
And that's only sensible. Paying is painless; it's enduring those friggin' long flights that should be rewarded. |

What I usually do is call ahead of time and confirm the reservation. Then I ask do you need my milage plus/sky pass/etc. number? They always take it.... After wards I would call them and ask "Was my Milage plus card associated with that trip?" |
